PEI'S MCQUAID IS RECALLED BY BOSTON BRUINS
BOSTON, MA, December 16, 2009 - Adam McQuaid of Cornwall, PEI has been called up by the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. McQuaid has spent the past two seasons with the Providence Bruins of the AHL after four seasons with the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL.

ROCHESTER, NY, December 3, 2009 - Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League has signed Newfoundland goaltender Ryan Mior to a professional tryout. Mior, 22, joined the team in Winnipeg Tuesday night and was in the Amerks lineup for a game with the Moose Wednesday night.
 
OLLIE THE GOALIE RETIRES AS ACTIVE PLAYER
TORONTO, ON, September 24, 2009 - Veteran goaltender Olaf Kolzig — known as Olie The Goalie — is retiring after 14 seasons in the National Hockey League. Kolzig played for the Dartmouth Subways of the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League prior to his injury filled pro career.

HALIFAX, NS, September 2, 2009 - Former Moncton Wildcat Chris Morehouse of the Saint Mary’s Huskies will try to earn an NHL contract with the St. Louis Blues next week. The 22-year-old forward from Amherst, NS will compete with the Blues at an eight-team NHL prospects tournament in Traverse City, Mich., starting Sunday.

SAN JOSE, CA, July 2, 2008 — San Jose Sharks has re-signed Group III unrestricted free agent left wing Jody Shelley to a two-year contract, Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced. Shelley is a former member of the Halifax Mooseheads and Dalhousie University Tigers.
