Player of The Week
October 15 - 22, 2006 

The Island Junior Hockey League player of the week is Kensington Viper forward Brodie Sanderson. Sanderson, who played last season with the Summerside Junior "A" Capitals, was an offensive force last week, compiling four goals and fours assists in helping his team open the season with three wins in their first four games. 

November 6-12, 2006

After collecting five points in his lone game two weeks ago and collecting player of the week, Pownal’s Jason Doyle decided to top that by collecting five goals and two assists in his team’s win last Thursday night against the Kings County Boathaulers, enough to claim his second straight Kamel Clothing Island Junior Hockey League player of the week honour. Doyle added a goal on Sunday evening to finish the week with eight points in only two games, seeing him climb to third place in the scoring race. 

November 13-19 

The IJHL Kamel Clothing player of the week is Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcon Tyler Simpson. Simpson is establishing himself as an offensive force in his rookie season, with eight goals and eleven assists. Last week Tyler assisted on all three goals in his teams 4-3 loss tro Pownal before scoring the overtime winner in their win against Kings County on Sunday night.

November 20-26 

The IJHL Kamel Clothing player of the week is Kings County Boathauler forward Steffan Cudmore. Cudmore played a key offensive role in helping his squad pick up their second win of the season last week against Sherwood. He scored twice and added two helpers, and chipped in an assist in their final game of the week. Cudmore has climbed into sixth place in league scoring with 20 points in 11 games. 

November 27-December 3

Last week’s IJHL Kamel Clothing Player of the Week is Robbie Chandler of the Sherwood Falcons. Chandler, a rugged forward, picked up seven points in his team’s three games, to push him into the top ten in league scoring.

December 4-10

the IJHL Kamel Clothing player of the week is Kensington defenseman Brett Vessey. An overage defenseman, Vessey picked up four assists in his team’s win over first place South Shore on Saturday night before scoring once and adding an assist in his team’s exhibition win over the East Hants Penguins.

December 11-18

Last week’s Kamel Clothing Player of the week is Pownal netminder Andrew MacRae. MacRae made 44 saves in leading the Metro Builders past the first place South Shore Red Wings 4-3 in Crapaud on Saturday evening. The win gave the Builders sole possession of third place, the highest the team has sat in the league standings this late in the season in franchise history.


December 18-24 

The IJHL Kamel Clothing player of the week is Kings County Boathauler forward Chris Bruce. Bruce, along with linemate Steff Cudmore, was instrumental in leading the Haulers to three of a possible four points last week as they played a pair of shootout thrillers, knocking off the Kensington Vipers 3-2 and losing 5-4 to the South Shore Red Wings. Bruce finished the week with a goal and three helpers.
