SEA DOGS RANKED NUMBER ONE IN CANADA
|
SAINT JOHN, NB, January 20, 2010 - The Saint John Sea Dogs came in at number one when the Canadian Hockey League unveiled its latest BMO MasterCard Top Ten rankings today. This is the first time in the five-year history of the franchise that Saint John has been ranked first overall in the nation.
The Gerard Gallant coached Sea Dogs, who have a record or 38-7-1-0, have been on the prestigious list, which is selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts, for the past 15 weeks, most of that time in second place.
Two other Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams managed to crack the upper echelon of the CHL: the Victoriaville Tigres in sixth place and the Drummondville Voltigeurs in eighth. The Moncton Wildcats received the first honourable mention.
The Wildcats travel to Victoriville Friday and Drummondville Saturday for games this week and the results of those games could affect the team's ranking. The full BMO CHL MasterCard Top Ten Rankings can be found below:
