EVAN MOSHER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Stefanovich and Mosher named QMJHL Players of Week

BOUCHERVILLE, QC, February 1, 2010 – P.E.I. Rocket goaltender Evan Mosher, a native of St. John's, NL Monday was named the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League TELUS defensive player of the week for the period extending from January 25 to 31.

Mosher, a 19-year-old, who has played parts of four seasons with the Rocket, registered wins over the Foreurs and the Titan, pushing away fifty of the fifty-three shots he faced. Mosher closed out the week with a 1.50 goals-against-average and .943 save percentage.

P.E.I. is moving up in the Atlantic Division standings after five consecutive wins and is now just one point back of third place Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in the Atlantic Division.

Quebec Remparts forward Mikhail Stefanovich was named offensive player of the week. Stefanovich scored six goals and added five assists in three Remparts victories over the Océanic, the Mooseheads and the Huskies. Furthermore, he posted a +7 rating and won 60.9% of his face-offs. The Belorussian sniper registered five points on two occasions, tying his career high. Quebec is in first place in the TELUS Eastern Division standings.

Éric Faille (Titan) and Jonathan Huberdeau (Sea Dogs) were also considered.
