NICOLAS LAPLANTE LEADS EAGLES OVER TOMMIES
BOUCTOUCHE, NB, September 27, 2008 -  Before a full house Saturday at the Bouctouche Forum, the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus got two goals and an assist from Nicolas Laplante to beat Saint Thomas Tommies 5-2 in pre season men's university hockey action.

Moncton outshot the Tommies 35-26 and led 3-0 after the second period with both Laplante goals and one from Rémi Gautreau. Rémi Doucet and Frédéric Sonier scored the other Moncton goals.

Tommies rookie Jason Rinzler of Moncton was the only Tommies player to outplay goaltender Pierre-Alexandre Marion scoring two goals in the third period.

Guy Miszczak started in net for the Tommies and allowed three goals before Ben MacFarlane relieved him.

Moncton will travel to Trois-Rivières and Québec for two games against the UQTR Patriotes on October 11 and 12.
