CHRIS MOREHOUSE GETTING SHOT AT PROS
HALIFAX, NS, September 2, 2009 - Former Moncton Wildcat Chris Morehouse of the Saint Mary’s Huskies will try to earn an NHL contract with the St. Louis Blues next week. The 22-year-old forward from Amherst, NS will compete with the Blues at an eight-team NHL prospects tournament in Traverse City, Mich., starting Sunday.

 Morehouse participated in a prospects orientation camp in St. Louis in July and as a result of his performance there got the invite to the prospect's tournament.

Morehouse had five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 28 games as a rookie last season, helping Saint Mary’s to an Atlantic University Sport championship.

The five-foot-nine, 180-pounder spent three years in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats and won the Canadian Hockey League’s humanitarian of the year award in 2008. He is a pesky forward known for his defensive work than his goal scoring. 

Born in Saint John, NB, he signed as a free agent with the Wildcats in 2005. He scored 36 goals and provided 32 assists for 68 points in 184 games with the Wildcats from 2005-08.
