HOA FLYERS ARE ONLY FIRST DAY WINNERS
MARLBORO,, MA, August 1, 2008 - The HOA Flyers were the only opening day winners of the three Maritime teams at the Boston Challenge Cup underway at the New England Sports Centre here in Marlboro, MA.

The Flyers coached by Tim Boyce, head coach of the Bridgewater Lumberjacks of the Maritime Junior A HockeyLeague, got off to a solid start with an 11-1 win over Tribal Frenzy. Led by Jake Bullen from the Harbour Crunch Jr C Champions with three goals and Jared Wilson from the Moncton Major Midget Flyers with two goals and an assist.

Coach Boyce felt the team played within itself and stayed out of the penalty box which he said is the key to success at any tournament.

Unfortunately with the other teams the HOA Bullets Midget Major team and the HOA Midget Minor team penalties cost them their games. The Islanders fell 4-0 to the Hudson Valley Americans 4 while the Bullets came up the short end of a 5-1 score in a game with Connecticut Mongoose. All three games were among the last of the day played late Friday night.

General Manager Jack Finlay says the boys are looking to get off to a better start in Saturdays play.
